Unraveling Sounds of Matsudo｜Kenta Tanaka

《Unraveling Sounds of Matsudo（松戸に流れる音を解く）》 is a sound installation by Kenta Tanaka who lived in Matsudo 25 years ago in his childhood, focusing on the theme of time flowing in Matsudo. Combining sounds of Matsudo about 25 years ago, voices of people talking about Matsudo in the past, and field recordings taken in various locations of Matsudo in the present, the sound space will evoke individual memories of the city. Live performances by the artist are scheduled from 6 PM on both days.

Through LONGSTAY Program 2020-21, Kenta has collected memories through workshops, received old videotapes, and conducted a residency to retrace the past with the cooperation of people with a connection to Matsudo. We will also ask visitors to cafe Wakamatsu, the venue for this exhibition, to share stories about the past and future of their life in Matsudo, which will be reflected in the sound of the work. This is an attempt to unravel the time of Matsudo in the past, present, and future through sound. We look forward to your participation.
