Aaron Ossia
2022.10

A video work by artist Aaron Ossia, who came from the UK and stayed on the Short Stay Programme in October 2022, was exhibited.
During his stay in Matsudo, Aaron paraded through the city with colourful sticks (totems) in his hands in a kind of ‘aimless ritual’ performance that never reached anywhere, and created a video and installation based on the documentation.
The exhibition was presented in the form of a video work projected on the walls and an installation work that combined the totems used in the video with food that was consumed on a daily basis.
If you look at the landscape of Matsudo through his eyes as a ‘traveller’, who finally managed to stay in Matsudo this time after postponing his visit to Japan for about two and a half years due to the pandemic, you may notice beauty and discomfort in the city that you would normally overlook.
