SDGs x Arts | Report presentation on Tokyo University of the Arts collaborative program by Sahil Thappa, Javed Ali
“Arts for our Futures”

Sahil and Javid are currently participating in the SDGs x Arts｜Semester Research Residence Program 2024 Tokyo, an invited program at Tokyo University of the Arts, from the National Institute of Design (NID). At NID, they are working with the Indian government and local communities to create sustainable social infrastructure and production systems for crafts in various regions of India, and will introduce their research findings from this residency program and their activities in India.

An exhibition of the workshop “Kaizo Futures: What objects might you find in Japan in the future?” conducted at the Tokyo University of the Arts will also be held.

《Hemorrhoid, TOTO, Family History》

Yu Shuk Pui Bobby, a Hong Kong artist and filmmaker based in Oslo, Norway, will be discussing her upcoming large-scale solo exhibition at UKS (Young Artists’ Society) in Oslo, scheduled for 2025. The exhibition, titled “Our Story with Hemorrhoid,” draws inspiration from her residency at Paradise AIR, including visits to the TOTO Museum in Kokura and the Animation Museum in Tokyo. These experiences will be integral to her exhibition.
