Kristof Trakal is an artist, writer and filmmaker, who lives in Berlin and Los Angeles. Trakals process-based work is often collaborative and participatory. Trakal has worked in the past on participatory installations (The Power House, OAG Recruitment Casting), conceptual Installations (theme park of death, radical privacy) and video pieces (the Jaw).
Trakal is founder of the Occult Acting Group – a research-based site specific acting group and member of the Neoliberalism Study Group – a Berlin-based research collective on the impact of neoliberalism.
Currently Trakal is working on the narrative feature film project Preparations IV, about a group of video tutorial makers training for a society drop-out and the essay film Archaeotourism about the relationship of archaeology and tourism in Mexico, Guatemala and East Germany.
