Takako Yamaguchi

Born in Gifu, currently based in Gunma. Yamaguchi moves from place to place and collects everyday things and memories she encounters at each place. She explores the empty space—that is produced when the frameworks and boundaries of the world we live in are shaken, renewed, and lost on a daily basis—and the unstable situation that resembles the unsteady footing of a moving vortex. By using fungi, such as mold, and algae as a mediator, and focusing on the relationship between nature and human beings, she gazes at the spaces that are held together by invisible factors.
