Thomas Hyland

Thomas Hyland is an artist & filmmaker from Hobart, Tasmania. His first major film work, Just Passing Through, premiered at the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival in 2013 and was later released by SBS / Studio TV.

As an artist Thomas has been selected as a Next Crop Artist for Triple J, been nominated for two APRA writers awards and performed at the opening of the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA). His most recent film, How to see through fog, premiered at The Unconformity festival in October 2016 before premiering online via The Guardian. Now based in Melbourne, Thomas works as a freelance writer & director with creative production studio, Commoner as well as creating work with his own imprint, Clones & Clones.
